Augmented Math: Authoring AR-Based Explorable Explanations by Augmenting Static Math Textbooks

A screen displaying a graph based math problem with an Apple pencil touching it. A teal graph and equation are overlaid digitally.

Augmented Math: This project introduces a machine learning-based tool that augments static math textbooks with interactive AR explanations, without requiring programming. Using OCR and computer vision, the system extracts formulas and figures, allowing users to overlay animations on documents through mobile AR interfaces. Designed for teachers and students, the tool makes math concepts more engaging by transforming traditional textbooks into interactive learning materials.
