Photography Student Assistant

Position Summary:ÌýÌý

The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ18 is seeking a motivated and creative student worker to join our video & photography production team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain practical communication skills, to work in a collaborative team environment and to develop creative solutions for communication projects. You will be required to capture and edit high quality photos to fulfill communication needs, learn professional metadata applications and manage digital asset databases. This role is an exciting opportunity to utilize your creativity, gain practical experience in photography production and post-production, and contribute to the success of CEAS.Ìý

Work Schedule:Ìý

10-20 hours per week. A consistent weekday work schedule will be established based on available hours Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with intermittent photo coverage on nights and weekends depending on the timing of shoots, events and programming.Ìý

Responsibilities:Ìý

  • ÌýAssist full-time staff with photo shootsÌý
  • Independently capture and edit photos for social media and digital and print marketing campaignsÌý
  • Assist with digital asset database and metadata managementÌý
  • Collaborate with the College's communications team to ensure brand consistency and adherence to guidelinesÌý
  • Accurately edit video closed captions on the College’s YouTube channelsÌý
  • Maintain production equipment and equipment storage spaces ensuring that the equipment is kept organized and in excellent conditionÌý
  • Other duties as assignedÌý

Required Qualifications:Ìý

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ18 in a minimum of 3 credit hours in good academic and judicial standingÌý
  • 2 years of work experience with professional photo equipmentÌý
  • 2 years of work experience with Adobe’s Lightroom, Photoshop and/or Camera Raw applicationsÌý
  • 2 years of work experience importing and organizing video and photo contentÌý
  • Creative mindset with an eye for composition and the ability to create visually appealing contentÌý
  • Must have advanced organizational skillsÌý
  • Must take initiative, follow instructions, be flexible, open to feedback and punctualÌý
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and communicate effectivelyÌý
  • Experience with digital asset database and metadata managementÌý
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentÌý

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):Ìý

  • Video production experience with mirrorless camerasÌý
  • Including audio capture experienceÌý
  • Video editing experience using Adobe Premiere ProÌý
  • Experience with Audition, Media Encoder and After Effects is a plusÌý
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of various social media platform photo and video formatsÌý
