Dr. Erbse earned her Chemistry Diploma, equivalent to a Master’s Degree in the USA, and her Doctorate in Natural Science (Dr. rer. nat.) from the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany. Since completing her thesis, Dr. Erbse has worked across a broad spectrum of fields, including protein folding and degradation, kinase signalling in bacteria, and bioenergetics.

In November 2012, she assumed a new position at the University of Colorado at Boulder within the Department of Biochemistry, where she was responsible for establishing the new Shared Instruments Pool (SIP). Additionally, she became the director of the Biomolecular X-ray Crystallography Core in 2016.

Dr. Erbse has an extensive skill set in biophysics, biochemistry, protein chemistry, and molecular biology, honed over more than 30 years of research. This wealth of experience places her in a strong position to direct both facilities and provide expert support for a wide array of research projects.Ìý
